The Davinci Code

IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK< THIS MAY BE A SPOILER>>SORRY

Well I did it, I read the darn book that "everyone" is talking about. I hate following the crowd, but I had to admit I was curious, I loved Angels and Demons, and have read everything else by Dan Brown so far, this was to be the next one. I settled in with it this weekend and was surprised that it featured the same main character as Angels and Demons, I figured I was off to a good start.

I want to get one thing straight, I hate fiction, unless it teaches me something, I find fiction is unmotivating and not very stimulating if the facts are not true. I love to learn. Thats why I love Dan Browns Novels, his writing contains so many interesting topics and the knowledge is well researched and very interesting.

I loved the continuation of the religious symbology. I myself, like many others I'm sure, battle daily with ideas of spirituality and what "God" means to me. This book did more for me than I would have expected. First of all the explanation of the Paegan and Christinaity being combined made so much sense. It instantly answered to me why I was supposed to follow, as a "christian", a church that considers women almost as second class citizens. I also loved the fact that it stated that Jesus was a mortal with a wife and daughter. This makes so much more sense to me. Jesus did respect women! He was considering giving the church over to Mary, who the church has classified as a "whore" in later days.

The Ying-Yang concept to me also answers alot of questions, about men and women being equal, and the world is left unbalanced if we do not complete each other. I loved that the peagan worshipped the goddess and women due to the fact that we bear children, and symbols such as the pentagon, which the church also tried to defame, which represents venus, which conviently lines up in that symbol excalty as that in our solar system. The bible was written after this union was developed between these 2 groups, to me this tells me a bit more about the universe, how our energy is all connected in some way, and the bible that degrades these ancient practises, came along long after they existed.

Now when I pray to God, I pray to mother nature, Budah, and anyone else that the world worships, I feel that I'm tapping into a unseen frequency, one that is far greater than anything we can imagine or begin to understand, our creater. I spend time in the woods and try to meditate and connect with this force, to recharge, I enjoy sex now, ancient religions deemed orgasms for men as a chance to reach divinity, as their mind was void and it was said they were actually connecting with God. This was a sacred incouraged act to highten our awareness, and it was not "dirty or shameful" as some churches state.

I want to clarify that I do not in any way disaprove of anyone practising spirituality in their own way, if it works for you, thats the most important thing, I know belive its not HOW you conenct, its IF you connect with our creator thats important, but lets keep in mind evil still resides out there, period, and this includes judging, being disrespectful towards others form of worship, and defemation of individuals who choose to belive a different medium than you. This book has brought out alot of finger pointing, outbursts from church communities and alot more, I don't think any type of God would condone that type of behavior, not in his name anyway.

Thats my opinion,

Jill
