Well, they tried to test their missiles, the 1 long range made it 30 seconds over Japan and into the Japanese ocean, also the other five had the same fate. I'm not saying that I'm not concerned, when I first heard the news I went immediately back to bomb shelter strategies. After talking to a very smart good friend of mine, Vance, he assured me that North Korea, really needs to FIRST have Iran on there side, and I"m sure they are, but Japan has got to be pissed. Tons of missiles constantly flying over their country can mot be good for public relations. They are considering sanctions, but north Korea really needs a lot more that what they have. Rice and 10,000 years of culture isn't going to take us on. That's not being close minded, yes thy have an army, yes they have scud missiles, lots of them, but at this point they are almost sending a message to Japan, not the world. Iran's probably now pissed as the heats on them for supplying the missiles, china still will be a tough sell, regardless of what happens, and all Japan is threatening is sanctions. The opinion was out on NKoreas purpose, some think it was a show of force, saying look, 4th of July, we can hit you Japan, we can hit you Alaska, if it was a test why would they need do to 6-10 missile tests (its still up in the air). Kim is being viewed as a child throwing a tempertantrum and acting on it. Some think its an attention thing, the Bush administration has overturned a lot of Clinton' policies with dealing with North Korea, and north Korea is upset they are labeled as the bad guys. Intelligent sources believe this is a cry to the USA for direction communication, and he also wants it resolved. After a failed economy, and everything else this "dictator" believes, this is a bold "dramatic" cry for resolve. Kim believes he is a director for what's being described as a cult following, and he is an actor, a director of a play he's trying to control. All this of course is speculation, we will hear soon NKoreas true motive soon, most expect him to return happily saying the "test" went well. South Korea will express their grave concern as their political position, but will sell short of sanctions at this time.
Japan has just issued an alert and has decided to go tract down the location of where these missiles actually impacted, they are seriously considering sanctions
No official statement from China yet, but Japan is at threat the most at this time. Chinas political position will be key here for these communist countries, and if Japan is attacked there will be a very unfortunate circumstance erupting...And for the anti-communists out there, there's going to be a lot less of them if one of these missiles hit Tokyo... China remains cautious at this time....No statement yet! Basically, from a western point of view, Bush wants the nuclear missiles out, and sanctions will then be lifted and funding granted. Lets see....I'll keep ya posted! So far only relationships are in jeopardy...Hopefully Japan remains safe!
