Now I'm going to be the tech geek I am and talk a bit about Google.

I'm sure you all have your ways of checking email, organizing events, etc etc.

I love Google, I know they watch me, according to popular conspiracy theorists (www.gmailistoocreepy.com) and others. To me this is old news and the internet has ALWAYS been watching and storing folks, always, I'm not a terrorist and I'm really not doing much illegal, so watch away!

This is why you should all consider switching to Google services... They are free is the first and foremost, they are all web based, so all of your information is always available to you from any internet connection, anywhere in the world.

They also fit seamlessly together, and NEVER crash as of yet for me.

Gmail holds 2GIGS of storage and I think they are up from there, it auto refreshes every 5 minutes, has several great add-ons for your PC and has built in attachment virus scanning and its quick, REAL quick! "Labels: are like Folders, you simply create one, label the email in a click and then press archive, and there it goes, it stores all your sent items, all your in box items, everything, and includes a great web based search program for just your email or other locations. It auto adds all your contacts as soon as you send an email, has a BUILT IN WEB BASED CHAT PROGRAM, yeah that's right, all you and your gmail friends can chat anytime online, and you don't have to download a thing! (ahem work ahem)..

That's just gmail folks, now lets talk that New Google calender you all have been receiving invites to from me... FULLY gmail integrated, also web based, invites to your gmail contact list are available with the click of a button, you can share these calendars so your mother can see it and see what you are up to this weekend and maybe next weekend you'll have lunch instead!

I love the idea of my group of friends seeing my public chosen events, and there's mine right in my calendar so I know what my best friend Leah is up to this weekend, shes sent me an invite, I can RSVP, I can click on a map button to see where, and more! It sends you a daily agenda at 503am to your gmail, of all the days events etc, and also reminds you basically whenever you want it too of anything you want. And its printable, sharable, importable, and web based, yes that's right, from ANY computer anywhere.

Google toolbar is the best around, get rid of MSN, it does nothing compared to Google with hardly any resources. Anything from page ranks, to blog this, to image search to any customization you can think of (yes pop up blocker also). You can grab a gmail button, notifier, built in spell check, auto fill, you name it it does it, or doesn't do it if you want to turn it off.

Google services I also use and love are Google pages, Google page creator, Google base, Google notepad LOVE IT! (and avail any time online anywhere!) and lets not forget the ever so popular Google personalized home page.

Google personalized home page contains I'd say 1000's of add-ons from games to cnn.com to gay.com to soduko to recipies to digg.com feeds to free text messages widgets from your desk top, to so much more..AND yes Google calendar and G MAIL previews can be seen there too.

You basically from ANY COMPUTER go to google.com, click sign in, sign in, and boom, all your bookmarks, and anything else you need.. this stuff is getting so good with games etc, owning space on a PC seems silly these days. I love to RSS feed my favorite msn spaces, it shows me the top 3 new updates all the time, and also of course direct links to the sites I like the most. I keep mine open all the time and open new windows and tabs off it all the time.

BUT if you have an older computer, are running IE6 not Firefox, don't load it up with a lot of graphical games and widgets, you'll be waiting to see your news awhile, its not for pre pentium2 I'd say, unless you've done upgrades. I DO run it on a Pentium 2 though, but I keep it pretty clean with mostly text based add-ons and widgets.

Well, I've rambled a lot, but you've got to get into this, its free, reliable, all info is stored online NOT on your hard drive which can crash, (AKA PICS, music files) get an account and consider it a backup even for pics!) Its Google... and yes they ARE taking over the world..!

Jill xoxo

We could all take a lesson from crayons, some are bright, some are beautiful, some are dull, some are short, some are tall, and some have wierd names. But they all have to learn to live in the same box.
